Electric cut off notice in the door Wednesday, January 4th.

Update 01/05/2017 9:26:47 AM

After our post yesterday, Acapulco Tans posted this to their Facebook page ” TO BRING ALL UP TO DATE:
With much regret we are closed. The oil crunch and its long lasting trickle down effect has helped rupture me. Plus August of 2015 a new owner purchased the building. In an uncompromising situation my rent doubled.  We fought a long hard fight. Unable to get the new landlord to negotiate a reasonable compromise on rent, I had to relinquish all assets of the company to him for the 5 year lease.  So, I’m bankrupt, out of business and deeply apologize to all the wonderful people that I have come to know.  I’m out of words. I truly am very sorry.”

We were told this morning that the locks were changed on the doors last week.

As he stated the business is “bankrupt” one would assume those who paid for tanning packages in advance are out their money.

tan-1What is going on with Acapulco Tans you ask? The answer is I do not know.

A notice on the door and on Facebook states  “Ventilation Repair” as the issue.  Their Facebook post on December 6th read “We apologized for complications and inconvenience to our customers. As soon as everything is fixed we will reopen. Hopefully only a couple of weeks.
Thank you very much.”

Since that time numerous clients have contacted us and commented on their post. There were replies through December 9th by the business then nothing. A post to their page was answered December 26th with I’ll post on FB tomorrow and fill everyone in.That did not happen.

tan2Like many of you, we have called. At first there was an answering machine, now nothing.  When we drove by today, besides the original ventilation  problem notice posted on the door, we found a cut off notice for their electric.

Some posted that they had paid for services several months in advance. Some say their bank account had been overcharged.  No one seems to be getting any answers.

That said we will keep investigating, but for now we can only guess the fate of the business.
