Violet Amy “Vi” Laflin was born March 9, 1930, in Eureka, Kansas, to Leslie and Nellie (Casto) Lang. She died Friday, March 4, 2016, in Catoosa, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years. Vi was reared and educated in Eureka, Kansas, and was a graduate of Reece High School. She was married July 2, 1953, in Eureka, to Harold Eugene Laflin. She spent most of her working life as a homemaker, ironing clothes for various people and caring for her family. Vi loved to bowl and was an avid member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress and the Christian Women’s Bowling League. She and friends bowled on a team called Harold’s Angels named after her late husband. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including crafts, ceramics, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. In her early years, she spent much of her time traveling across the country with Harold and longtime family friends Carl and Louise Tittle.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, three sisters, Mary Smith, Betty Smith, and Gayle Daniels, and a brother, Lyle Lang.
 Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma, with Pastor Andy Jobe officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Brandon Laflin, Matt Huckabey, Levi King, Mason King, Ryan King, and Chris Tittle. Committal service and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
