John Deforest Pettus III was born August 31, 1957, in Berkeley, California, to John Deforest Pettus II and Shirley Ann Dorman. He died Sunday, November 12, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 60 years. John completed his secondary education and then attended Oklahoma City Community College earning his degree as a paramedic. He spent much of his working life as the owner and operator of Crossroads Sigh Company. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including riding his motorcycle and being out on the water fishing.

Brother; Thomas Pettus, of California
Mother; Shirley Williams, of Port Townsend, Washington
And longtime girlfriend, Susie Williams
He was preceded in death by his father, and his step-father, Jarvis Williams
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Private family disposition will be held at a later date. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
