Arvin Curtis “Curt” Poole was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, on January 25, 1957. He passed away on July 23,
2025, at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma, where he lived with his beloved wife, Donna.
Curt dedicated much of his life to pastoral ministry and also ran a successful mechanic business, combining
his love for working with his hands and serving others. Even after retirement, Curt’s passions never slowed. He
cared for his cherished classic cars in his garage, enjoyed riding his motorcycle on perfect days, and devoted
time to serving as a board member for Elshadai Child Development Missions in Ethiopia — a cause close to
his heart.
A man of deep faith, Curt believed strongly in the importance of the local church. His family’s many moves—
from Colorado to Kansas, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas, and back to Colorado—never diminished his desire to be
actively involved in church communities. Ultimately settling in Owasso, Oklahoma, after Donna declared, “No
more moves!”, Curt continued to inspire those around him through countless prayer walks, often accompanied
by friends. His ability to form meaningful friendships wherever he went, coupled with his genuine
encouragement, made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Curt’s unwavering faith and love for his
family and friends were truly remarkable.
Curt has three grown children and their families: Tabitha and Jim Moss, Iann Poole and Karli Castillo, and
Travis and Cassie Poole. He was the proud and devoted grandfather to five grandchildren: Liam (10), Noah
(9), Eli (7), Hayden (2), and Cecily (5 months). Curt’s greatest joy and lifelong best friend was his wife, Donna,
with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage this past May.
A Gathering to honor Curt’s life will be held on August 17, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Freedom Church, 9602 N 177th
E Ave, Owasso, OK 74055. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a time of sharing stories
and memories over light refreshments. To help preserve Curt’s legacy, stations will be available for guests to
write down special memories and reflections.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Elshadai Child Development Missions,
where Curt served on the board. www.zeffy.com/donation-form/in-memory-of-curt
