Agnes C. HakelAgnes Christine Hakel was born May 1, 1925, in Waukomis, Oklahoma, to Joseph John Matussak and Anna (Troska) Matussak. She died Monday, March 30, 2020, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 94 years. Agnes was raised and educated near Enid, Oklahoma and graduated with the St. Joseph’s Catholic High School Class of 1943. She was married April 22, 1946 in Enid to Lawrence J. Hakel. Agnes spent most of her working life in the home raising her 5 children. She was a faithful member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Owasso since 1975. Agnes enjoyed a variety of past times such as sewing, cooking, crocheting, playing games, taking trips to the casino, dancing, fishing, and loving on her cat, Wendy, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Diana Howell, of Owasso
Sharon Swaney and husband Brad, of Tulsa
Tina Albright and David Powers, of El Reno, Oklahoma
6 Grandchildren;
Becky Niebruegge, Scott Hakel, Rodney Hakel, Jesse Brown, Kyle Hakel and Wesley Tate and 10 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna, husband, Lawrence, son, Mike, grandson, John, great granddaughter, Anna Kathryn, sister, Mary, and brother, Frances.

 

Memorial service will be held on a later date at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Owasso with Father Matt LaChance officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Agnes’ memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
