Archie Lee HortonArchie Lee Horton was born March 22, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Lodebar Archibald “L.A.” and Osa Bell Toothman Horton. He died Thursday, November 28, 2019, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years. Archie completed his secondary education in Collinsville, Oklahoma, and was graduated with the Collinsville High School Class of 1961. He was married June 9, 1961, in Collinsville to Verna Mae Wedel. Archie attended Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he completed his biblical and theological studies. He served several pastorates in the Nazarene church from 1968 through 1990. He pastored churches in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Francisco, Indiana, Middleton, Nova Scotia, Canada, Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada, Elmsdale, Prince Edward Island, Canada, Grand Prairie, Alberta Canada, Parkview Nazarene Church in Tulsa, and in Grove, Oklahoma. He worked as an electrical instructor for Climate Control Institute, which later became Vatterott College. He was a member of the International Association of Electrical Instructors. Archie had been a longtime faithful member of Silver Creek Church of the Nazarene in Owasso. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including going camping and hiking with his family. He especially enjoyed the company of friends and was just an all-around people person.

Sister; Deanna Sink and husband Gary, of Collinsville, Oklahoma
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Liz Rogers.
 
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2019, at the Silver Creek Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Brian Loderhose officiating. Final resting place will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Nazarene Missions International, 17001 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa, Kansas, 66220, http://nazarenemissions.org/ . Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
