Bailey Elementary Placed on Lock-down Wednesday Morning

From Owasso PD:

02/12/2020 – At 11:14 AM on Wednesday, February 12th, 2020, the Owasso E911 center received a call from a caller who stated that someone pulled a gun and that the caller was hiding in a bathroom.

While the caller would say no more, a trace on the call found it was located at Bailey Elementary in Owasso. Out of an overabundance of caution and at the recommendation of Owasso Police Officers assigned to the schools; Bailey Elementary went on an external lockout and full interior lockdown while additional field officers were summoned.

Within minutes the entire school was searched and secured. Video footage inside the school showed no signs of the event described on 911. Once secure the lockdown was lifted however officers stayed on the scene to answer any questions from parents and school staff.

While we apologize for any disruption of service at the school, student and staff safety is our primary concern. Police received no more information as to the nature of the original call and although field officers canvassed the entire area have found nothing out of the ordinary.
