Owasso, Okla. (Dec. 10, 2013) – Patients seeking emergency care at Bailey Medical Center can now use their smartphone or mobile device to pre-register online – saving valuable time by sharing information about their condition with caregivers in advance.

The hospital has partnered with iTriage, a free smartphone app that allows users to research symptoms and conditions, locate a nearby doctor or hospital, and pre-register for their visit directly from their mobile device. Patients can provide contact details, medication allergies and information about symptoms in advance, allowing Bailey’s ER staff to better prepare for their arrival. While the new app is designed to speed service, ER patients are always seen in order of severity.

“We recognize that no one wants to visit the Emergency Room, however we’re excited to introduce a tool that can make the process easier and less stressful for our patients,” said Keith Mason, Bailey Medical Center CEO. “Whether providing this free app or posting average ER wait times on our website, we’re committed to providing patients with the resources, technology and information they need to make informed health care choices.”

Bailey is among the first hospitals in the area to offer this interactive technology, which empowers consumers to immediately find the appropriate level of care. Developed by ER doctors, iTriage also provides turn-by-turn GPS directions, allows users to research medications and procedures, and securely store important medical information.

Consumers can download iTriage by texting “iTriage” to 31996 or visiting www.iTriageHealth.com. The free app is also available from the app stores for iPhone® or Android™ smartphones. Click here or here to download.
