Billie Jean TatumBillie Jean Tatum was born May 4, 1934, in Sperry, Oklahoma, to Alton and Verdie Irene Sandridge Jacobs. She died Friday, September 4, 2020, in Springdale, Arkansas, at the age of 86 years. Billie completed her secondary education in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated with the East Central High School Class of 1951. She was married October 2, 1979, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, to Darrell Lavon Tatum. They had made their home in Owasso before moving to Springdale, Arkansas. She spent most of her working life as an office manager with Western Towel Uniform in Tulsa. Billie enjoyed a variety of pastimes including camping and fishing. She and Darrell also enjoyed traveling together and taking the occasional trip to the casino. She took great pleasure in her role as “Grandma Billie” to her grandchildren.

 

Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include:
Children; Norman Roberts and wife Linda, of Warner, Oklahoma
Clairese Barchenger and husband Brian, of Tontitown, Arkansas
Mike Tatum, of Skiatook, Oklahoma
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darrell, daughter, Karen Harvell, and son Troy Roberts.

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Eli Barchenger, Daniel Baker, Colton Roberts, Aaron Barchenger, Brian Barchenger, and Norman Roberts. Committal service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
