Billie Wayne Armstrong was born September 27, 1948, in Yakima, Washington, to Jackson Paul and Lois Larue Toney Armstrong. He died Thursday, January 12, 2017, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 68 years. Bill was reared and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Tulsa East Central High School Class of 1966. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army. He was married May 29, 1970, in Quapaw, Oklahoma, to Waundra Shaw. Bill continued his education attending Northeastern State A & M in Miami, Oklahoma and later completed his studies at Southwestern Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas. He started his ministry with his first pastorate September 23, 1979. As a bivocational pastor, he spent much of his working life working at American Airlines as a spray welder. He retired as a pastor after serving over 40 years preaching the gospel. Bill enjoyed a variety of pastimes, but he just loved to build in order to further the Kingdom of God.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at the First Assembly of God in Miami, Oklahoma, with Pastor Raymond Frizzelle officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Gary Tolbert, Mark Hixson, Allen Fielding, Roger Fields, Darren Tippit, and Brian Jinks. Committal service and interment will be held 2:00 p.m. that afternoon at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Miami Assembly of God Building Fund, 1815 East Steve Owens Boulevard, Miami, Oklahoma, 74354. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
