Born June 2, 1931, passed peacefully on June 3, 2020 in Collinsville, OK. Bobetta was born the second of two daughters, to Robert Marlow and Mary Teresa Shay Burroughs of Tulsa, OK. She attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from the Tulsa Central High School, Class of 1949. On August 7, 1949, she married G. Allen White of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
Bobetta began her working life at the First National Bank of Tulsa. Years later, working alongside her husband Allen, Bobetta performed as the General Office Manager at their family owned and operated grocery business, White’s Food Corral, in Sand Springs. Bobetta was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Also, Bobetta and Allen were active Charter Members, in the founding years of St. Matthews Episcopal Church of Sand Springs.
She was an accomplished seamstress, creating and sewing several beautiful wedding party formals, window draperies, and suits. She was also well known for designing and creating her own patterns. Bobetta was an excellent cook and baker, turning out delicious meals, pies, cakes and especially her most desired Chocolate Thumb Print Cookies at Christmas time. During her retirement years, she and Allen maintained a vegetable garden, a fruit orchard and performed their own canning.
