Brian Austin “Biz” Bizzell was born November 20, 1975, in Wichita, Kansas, to Jim Bizzell and Joan Schirf. He passed away the morning of Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 49 years. Biz completed his high school education in Wichita, Kansas. He acquired his degree in Fire Science through Tulsa Community College and Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma. Biz began his 27-year firefighting career with the Tulsa Fire Department in 1998 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2007. With his hard work and determination, he was awarded the Above and Beyond recognition on multiple occasions. Biz was a faithful member of the Collinsville Church of Christ. He was a light and a blessing to be around, a source for a good conversation, a strong man of faith, and an amazing family man. He had the heart of a servant and was a source of help in many ways. Generosity was evident with his time and gifts.
Biz enjoyed life having his priorities in order with God, wife and family, and then everything else. Some of his interests included, of course, music and playing the drums. He had many creative talents such as expressing his gifts by drawing and painting. He was asked to paint some fire helmets by his peers. Biz also enjoyed rock crawling and building rigs for such. He was excited to install a two-past lift in his shop. Overlanding was on the horizon and a new adventure for him to conquer. Explaining the fire department as an interest seems to fall short as it was a way of life. He proved to be a purpose-oriented man of God. His focus had shifted to be a man of God as well as living by example to bring people closer to God.
Biz will be sorely missed by his family, his friends, and of course the brothers and sisters in funeral service.
