Charles-Charlie-Butcher-1527020050Charles “Charlie” Richard Butcher was born October 18, 1940, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Ransom Elmer Butcher and Ada Belle (Barham) Butcher. He passed from this life Saturday, May 19, 2018, in Collinsville, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years. Charlie was raised and educated near Hominy, Oklahoma and graduated with the Mound Valley High School Class of 1958. After high school he enlisted and served in the United States Army. Charlie married Linda Beth (Haney) Butcher in Houston, Texas on October 28, 1976. He spent most of his working life as an Aircraft Mechanic with American Airlines. Charlie has been a faithful member of First Baptist church in Collinsville, Oklahoma. He was very active in the church, teaching Sunday School and serving with the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief Team and Foreign Water Well Missions. He had a variety of pastimes such as fishing, walking, biking, traveling, shooting pool at the Owasso Community Center, but most of all loved mission work and serving the Lord.

Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom and Ada, 2 brothers, Albert and Delbert, and 4 sisters, Naomi, Norma, Leona, and Lillian.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Mowery Funeral Service. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Collinsville with Pastor Tim Prock officiating. The Family Requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made in Charlie’s memory to First Baptist Church Collinsville – Water Well Missions, 1301 West Main Street, Collinsville, Oklahoma 74021. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service.
