TomlinsonCharles Larry Tomlinson was born September 26, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Reverend Charles J. and Wanda L. Tomlinson. He died Thursday, July 30, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at age 72. Larry attended school in Cleveland, Oklahoma, completed his secondary education in Owasso, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1960. He continued his education at Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri, and later Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. Following in his father’s footsteps, he worked in the church, and sang with an evangelistic trio. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served his country honorably as a code breaker in Scotland during the Vietnam War. He was married May 8, 1971, at Owasso Assembly of God to Janet Carter. He spent most of his working life as a computer programmer at Mathews Warehouse Distributing d/b/a Brad’s Auto Parts Center. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes, gardening, reading, and computer games.

Loving family members include: His wife of over 44 years, Janet; three sons, Jeremy, Jefry (and his wife, Laurie), and Justin, all of Tulsa; two grandchildren, Allie and Callan; sister, Diana Crowl, of Tulsa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at First Assembly of God in Owasso with Pastor Clarence Lambert officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Tomlinson, Jefry Tomlinson, Justin Tomlinson, Rick Carter, John Kramer, Michael Kramer, Brad Harrell, and Mark Crowl. Committal service and interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
