Chelsea Logan RickmanChelsea Logan Rickman, age 28, of Sperry, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Monday, March 2, 2020. Chelsea was born June 24, 1991 in Tulsa, the daughter of Mike and Martha Rickman. She was raised and received her education in Sperry, graduating with the class of 2010. While in high school, Chelsea participated in softball, Yearbook, Honor Society, and had special involvement in art, science, and drama. She furthered her education with an associate’s degree in Pre-vet from Tulsa Community College, at Oklahoma State University she received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, as well as a Masters in International Agriculture finishing in 2016. Chelsea worked as an Elephant and exotic animal handler for Ringling Brothers Circus and later as a sea lion trainer for Sea Lion Splash. She enjoyed travel and adventure including 3 trips to Africa once spending a month sleeping on the ground every night while traveling from Johannesburg to Nairobi, 2 trips to Norway to free dive in the Arctic Ocean with Orca and Humpback whales, 2 trips to Utila Island for free diving, and 2 years living on the Ringling Brothers train traveling the USA. Chelsea loved playing competitive softball, reading, horseback riding, dog training, mission trips, drawing, painting and sports, especially watching Cardinal baseball with her father. She also loved the zoo and was a Zoo Teen at age 14 and became an elephant intern after high school. Chelsea was a member of the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, Girl Scouts, the Elephant Managers Association, and the International Marine Animal Trainer’s Association.
 
 
Those that survive include her parents – Mike and Martha (Findley) Rickman of Sperry, OK; paternal grandmother Lois Logan of Marionville, MO., maternal grandmother Dorothy Findley of Tulsa; one Aunt – Cindy Lee and husband Dan of Marionville, MO, three Uncles – Dennis Findley and wife Jane of Marionville, MO, Phil Findley and wife Donna of Odessa, MO and Andy Findley of Adrian, MO cousins Shelby, Corbin, Luke, Vanessa, Ryan, Winnie, Megan, Jimmy, Chris, Yuri, Kayla, Heather, Lauren, Chris, Karrigan. Biological brother Nick Mathis. She was preceded in death by grandfathers – Harold Logan of Marionville, Mo; Allen Findley of Lamar, MO and her Aunt Sharon Findley Raymore, Mo
 
A celebration of Chelsea’s life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the sanctuary of the Memorial Drive Methodist Church, 7903 East 15th St, Tulsa with Pastor Kaela Burdge and Temple Diehl officiating. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions in Chelsea’s memory may be made to: Marine Mammal Center, Elephants Manager Association, Center for Elephant Conservation, or the Heifer Project.
Arrangements and services have been entrusted to the Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
