Cherokee Nation calendar of events for November
 
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Cherokee Nation celebrates Native American Heritage Month with free admission to all Cherokee Nation museums throughout the month of November. Also, the Cherokee Nation recognizes its top certified Indian-owned businesses of the year for 2014 at the tribe’s seventh annual TERO Awards Banquet. Calendar items are as follows.
 
Nov. 1
8 a.m. – Cherokee Nation Healthy Nation Wings Program sponsors a 5K and Fun Run at the Cherokee Warrior Memorial, next to the W.W. Keeler Tribal Complex in Tahlequah, 17675 S. Muskogee Ave. Pre-registration costs are $15 for 5K and $5 for Fun Run. Race day fee is $20 and $10. For more information, call Trina Jackson at 918-207-3913.
 
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – The 1710 Cherokee “Hands On” Interactive Exhibit kicks off at the Cherokee Heritage Center in Park Hill, 21192 S. Keeler Dr. It is open all month. 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.Cherokee Nation Heart of the Nation Health Expo and Family Fun Day in the Tsa-La-Gi community room behind the Restaurant of the Cherokees in Tahlequah. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. –To celebrate Cherokee humorist Will Rogers’ 135th birthday, Cherokee Nation Cultural Tourism is partnering with the Will Rogers Museum in Claremore, 1720 W. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Cherokee Nation TERO office hosts its 7th Annual Certified Indian-Owned Business Fair at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa, 777 W. Cherokee St., Catoosa. More than 700 Cherokee Nation TERO-certified businesses will showcase their work. An awards dinner will follow at 6 p.m. to recognize the top certified Indian-owned businesses of the year. The Cherokee Arts Center in Tahlequah also hosts the following weekly classes:
