The Rogers County Literacy Council (RCLC) will offer Computer Literacy for Beginners on Mondays and Thursdays in June and July. Eight spaces are available for ten sessions free of charge.
The first session will take place on Monday, June 24th in the Will Rogers Library Multipurpose Room, located at 1515 N. Florence Ave. in Claremore. Future classes will occur every Monday and Thursday in June and July at the Stratton Taylor Library, Room 303, Rogers State University, 1701 W. Will Rogers Blvd., Claremore.
Computers are a focal point of our everyday lives. Whether a person wants to browse photos on Facebook or Instagram, use smartphone applications to read the latest news or weather reports, listen to digital music, or shop online, computer literacy offers new possibilities for anyone to explore. The ability to use computers, tablets, and smartphones with ease may be one of the most important aspects of 21st-century life.
With the generous support of the Sarkeys Foundation, the Rogers County Literacy Council is delighted to offer ten sessions free of charge to anyone wanting to acquire basic computer skills. We will learn how to create email accounts, become familiar with smartphone applications and computer programs, and use search engines to discover web-based sources of information. We will discuss how, as good “digital citizens,” we should use the Internet ethically and effectively.
