grant winner

Congratulations to the teachers that were awarded Owasso Education Foundation Grants.  Owasso High School received nearly $7,000 in grant monies.

Congratulations to Kari Burkhardt, Bryan Dunn, Sarah Kidwell, Tina Major, Kathleen Wehmeyer and Leslie Wright.

Mrs. Burkhardt received a $999 grant to purchase an online immersion program for her Spanish students.  This will be a valuable resource in the foreign language lab.

Coach Dunn received a $3,000 grant for the OHS robotics program.  These monies will help fund a third team.  Last year, Owasso Public Schools had two robotics teams.  This year, with additional participation, a third team was added.

A $345 check was presented to Ms. Kidwell to buy two class GoldReaders in French: La vraie Patricia and Le premier travail de Damien, a region free DVD player.  She will also purchase two films and film studies.

Mrs. Major received $1200.  These funds will purchase a number of TI-84 Plus Silver C graphing calculators. These new-to-the-market calculators have high-resolution screens that are in full COLOR and backlit.  They also allow you to super-impose images into a graph.  Every teacher in the math department will receive one for their classroom.

A $782 check was presented to Mrs. Wright.  These funds will pay for the Immersion website Yabla for all of the French Pre-AP and AP students.
