Connie Jean VanPattenConnie Jean VanPatten was born December 24, 1959, in Newton, Iowa, to Thomas Martin and Eleta Kay Dye Spencer. She died Sunday, September 26, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 61 years. Connie completed her secondary education at Carl Junction, Missouri, and graduated with Carl Junction High School Class of 1978. She was married June 3, 1978, in Joplin, Missouri, to Anthony A. VanPatten. Connie worked with Wal-Mart and Reasor’s, but primarily was a customer service representative with the Avis Call Center. She also took pride as a mother and homemaker caring for her family. She enjoyed singing Gospel and playing the piano. She served The Kingdom Campground Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Connie cared for many people and enjoyed making people happy. She was affectionately known as “Grandma” to her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Joseph Meyers officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Connie’s memory to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or www.stjude.org .
