We are saddened to announce the passing of Denzil Jones. He was an Owasso resident for 32 years. Denzil retired from Flynn Dairy in 1985. Denzil and his wife Shirley moved to Owasso to be closer to their granddaughter Dana Rowe.
Denzil is survived by his wife Shirley, son Jim Jones of Arizona, Greg Jones and wife Unsuk of Arizona, daughter Renae Musick and husband Don of Owasso, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
Denzil formed friendships immediately upon arriving in Owasso and those friendships more precious than gold stay strong to this day. You may remember Denzil from encounters around Owasso Schools. He was a crossing guard for 4 years, working mainly at the High School, and Bailey Elementary. He loved talking to the students as he did his job and looked forward to interacting with the students daily. He will be missed by those students who enjoyed his conversation.
Those of you who would like to pay respect can stop by Bailey Ranch Country Club, Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 3 pm to 7pm for a Celebration of Denzil’s Life.
In lieu of flowers a gift can be made to purchase a Memorial Tree in Denzil’s Honor. Any additional donations will be distributed to one of Denzil’s favorite charities which are those to help Owasso Kids and Owasso Paramedics.
