Don Meyers was born October 5, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He served in the Navy
before obtaining a degree in engineering at Oklahoma State University. He worked as a
Civil Engineer and was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company for many years. On June 5, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN. Don married Monica Adlard, whom he referred to as the love of his life. They moved to the Owasso Baptist Village in 2013 and joined the 1st Presbyterian Church of Owasso. Don enjoyed BVO campus activities including choir, SIRS, and tours. He had a dry sense of humor and loved to laugh. He enjoyed gardening, model trains, traveling, sports, music, reading, and spending time with family and friends. In earlier years, Don shared the love of golf with Monica and their mutual friends.
Don is survived by his wife Monica of the home. 3 children; Paula Hayden of Chicago, IL, Mike Meyers of Borger, TX, and Shari Nelson of Salt Lake, UT. Five Grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. One sister Jo White of Tulsa. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Alyne Meyers of the Red Fork area. Don loved his family and died peacefully at home, Friday, December 4, 2015 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family, friends, and his little dog Mitzi.
Don’s family has appreciated the outpouring of love and support from church members,
neighbors, and friends. He will be tremendously missed.
Memorial Service for Don will be 2:30PM Monday, December 7, 2015 in the Alsup Chapel at Baptist Village of Owasso. Rev. Natalie Bell and Rev. Steve Williams will officiate.
