Dr. Casey Truett was born September 26, 1944, in Gatesville, Texas, to Herbert Winters Truett and Gladys Cleo Reed Truett. He died Monday, October 20, 2025, in Jenks, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years. After graduating high school, Casey enrolled at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 1969. This would begin a 55-year career in the medical profession, which in his words meant, “to me, my profession is a ministry of God”. His career included private practices in Norman and Owasso, Oklahoma. He was an integral part of the Omni Medical Group in Owasso. He served as medical director at Community Health Connection in Tulsa as well as emergency room physician at St. Francis Hospital. Casey also served with the Oral Roberts University School of Medicine where he trained Christian physicians for ministry all over the world.
Casey was a man strong in his faith and was a member of Life Church in Bixby, Oklahoma. He went on numerous mission trips sharing his medical expertise and his faith with others. Casey was a member of the Oklahoma State Medical Society and served as a board member with Hannah’s Prayer Adoption Agency. While practicing in Owasso, he was member of the Owasso Chamber of Commerce and was past president.
Casey enjoyed a variety of pastimes including traveling, especially the annual family trip to their special place at Sanibel Island in Florida. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooner football fan, attending their games and cheering for them on television. Casey was a big “foodie” and loved to experience new restaurants.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Gladys Truett, daughter, Amy Elisabeth Jackson, and in-laws, James Chance and Betty Chance.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso. Private family disposition will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Dr. Truett’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
