Earl Gene Spickelmier was born May 28, 1928, in Owasso, Oklahoma, to Harold Gordon Spickelmier and Devedia Ann Draper. He died Saturday, March 16, 2024, in Owasso at the age of 95 years. Earl was reared and educated in Owasso and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1946. During his high school years he played basketball for Owasso, who at the time were known as the Owls. Earl was a veteran of the armed services having served his country honorably with the United States Navy during World War II. Earl was married March 5, 1954, in Owasso, Oklahoma, to Ruth Pavey. He spent most of his professional career as a supervisor with Southwestern Bell before his retirement. Earl was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church of Owasso. He served in many areas including Sunday School teacher and as a Deacon. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including traveling, especially to Hawaii.

His wife of over 70 years; Ruth, of the home
Daughter; Lori Wilson and husband Ronnie, of Owasso, Oklahoma
Sister; Stella Witt, of Langley, Oklahoma
And a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Howard Spickelmier, and sisters, Blanche Eggers, Dorthea Spickelmier, Nadine Allman, and Maxine Medlin.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Earl’s memory to The Mission-FBCO, P.O.
