Eleanor Ann Thompson, longtime Tulsa resident, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the age of 76 years. Eleanor was born July 5, 1937 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma to Clay Calhoun and Emma Grace (Cross) West. She was raised and received her education in Tahlequah, OK, graduating with the Class of 1955. On December 22, 1955, Eleanor was united in marriage to Franklin H. (Frank) Thompson in Tahlequah. They made their first home in Tahlequah for a short time before moving to Nowata, OK. They later lived in Grants, NM and Bartlesville, OK. Tulsa has been home since 1962. Her husband Frank passed away in November of 2012.
Eleanor was a member of the Owasso Church of Christ and in earlier years was a member of the Oklahoma Christian Women’s Association. Although most of her life was being a mother and homemaker, she found time to crochet, knit and was an avid reader.

Those that survive include her children – Darla Coghill and husband Jim of Tulsa, Terri Nolan and husband Ron of Fredericksburg, VA, Douglas Thompson and wife Laurie of Arnett, OK, Daniel Thompson and wife Susan of Owasso, OK, Dana Thompson and wife Gina of Jenks, OK and Dale Thompson of Tulsa. Also surviving are two sisters Yvonne Diffey of Stillwater, OK; Lucille Garrison of West Plains, MO; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.

Memorial services for Eleanor will be on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Owasso Church of Christ with Mr. Dan Schnell officiating.
