04/04/2018 – Items that can no longer be used by the City are declared surplus and often sold on eBay.
This has been an effective way for the City to sell surplus equipment since 2001. Surplus items can be anything from file cabinets to cars that have exceeded their useful life, or can no longer be effectively used by the City.
