On Monday, GLA officials announced the appointment of Rodney Ray, former city manager of the City of Owasso, as the new executive director for the association.

He follows Tad Jones who will step down on July 31 as director. Jones is set to become the new executive director of the Will Rogers Memorial Museums on Aug. 1.

Ray Claggett, president of the GLA board,  said the board is excited to bring Ray to the table as the new executive director. Ray was the top candidate out of six to be considered for the position.

“He has a tremendous amount of experience and will be a great asset for the GLA,” Claggett said, adding that Ray’s experience as a city manager, as well has his extensive contacts within the state and his experience as a fundraiser made him an attractive candidate for the board.
