First United Methodist Church of Owasso has hosted an Annual Pumpkin Patch for Mission since October of 2001. Our mission is to offer a safe and fun Fall Activity for families to enjoy year after year.  We are a four-time winner of the Pumpkin Patch Appeal Award out of 1,300 different sites. We have been listed in TulsaKids Magazine as the number one place for children in October.  Visiting our Patch has become quite an annual tradition for Owasso and the surrounding area.  Each October we sell anything that is orange and round, and come November we begin planning how to give the proceeds away!

Families enjoy the activities and beauty of the Pumpkin Patch while supporting local, national and international missions!  We’ve had visitors from towns all over Oklahoma and out of state as well.  Speaking of out of state, our pumpkins are born in New Mexico and transported to Owasso in big tractor trailers.  The pumpkins come from Pumpkins USA/Pumpkins Fundraising.  They only provide pumpkins to non-profit organizations for fundraising sales.  Check them out at www.pumpkinsusa.com or Facebook.

All of our proceeds from pumpkin sales are given away to mission.  The 2015 Pumpkin proceeds allowed us to provide financial support or donated items to:  Owasso Community Resources (OCR), Arubah Community Clinic, City Lights Foundation (sponsor Night Light Tulsa), Open Table Community Cafe, FUMC Owasso Food Pantry, FUMC Owasso Christmas Everyday Fund, Restore Hope Ministries, OKVIM ongoing Bolivia mission efforts, FUMC Owasso sponsored VIM Mexico Spring Break mission trip, Kansas City Urban Family Mission Trip, OKUMC sponsored Exodus House and CJAMM ministries, OCR sponsored Thanksgiving Baskets and Christmas Angel Tree gifts for CJAMM and children through OCR.

This year, we open the patch on Monday, October 3rd and daily hours are from Noon to dusk which is usually about 7pm…PLUS we open early on Saturday at 10am.  Admission is free.  Pumpkins are priced based on size.  In addition to the Pumpkins for sale – that come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors – our activities include:  A fun maze, coloring, stickers, hay rides on Saturdays and outdoor classroom reserved for area schools ONLY (Tue, Thr & Fri 10-2:30) and the most beautiful Autumn season photo opportunities.  The event schedule includes:  The 6th Annual Hance Henrie Memorial Run for The Patch on October 8th, on October 28th watch ‘Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin’ movie in the pumpkin patch, Open Table will have a lunch cookout fundraiser at the Patch on October 29th and Trunk or Treat is on Halloween night, October 31st.  We are located at 13800 E 106th St N, Owasso OK  74055.

Pumpkin Patch For Mission

This year the FUMC Pumpkin Patch For Mission opens on Monday, October 3rd.  First United Methodist Church of Owasso (FUMC) has hosted this Annual Pumpkin Patch For Mission since October 2001.  Not only do we raise money for local, national and international missions, but the Pumpkin Patch also provides an opportunity for our church to be a church outside the walls.  We engage the community every day in October and demonstrate love and kindness on a daily basis.  Our mission is to offer a safe and fun Fall Activity for families to enjoy year after year.  Admission is free.  Pumpkins are priced by size.  Some crafts have a fee.  We offer learning activities in our outdoor classroom on weekdays, a maze, coloring, stickers and miniature pumpkins for .50 cents or $1.  In past years, we had over 3000 school kids come through our patch!  We are a four-time winner of the Pumpkin Patch Appeal Award out of 1,300 different sites. We have been listed in TulsaKids as the number one place for children in October.  The pumpkin patch offers a wonderful backdrop for an Autumn season photo opportunity.  Bring the whole family and snap your holiday picture!!  Make the Pumpkin Patch for Mission a tradition for your family and help us support our local community and beyond.

The community support of the Pumpkin Patch for Mission and the selling of pumpkins for both local and global missions has allowed us to fund and sponsor many missions since our inception in 2001.  In recent years we have supported these local and global missions:  Arubah Community Clinic, CJAMM Ministries, Bolivian Pastors Endowment Fund, Change The World, City Lights Foundation (sponsor Night Light Tulsa), Exodus House, FUMC Christmas Everyday Fund, FUMC Food Pantry, Kansas City Urban Family Mission Trip, Missions to Bolivia, Missions to Mexico, Open Table Community Café, Owasso Community Resources Center, Restore Hope Ministries, Rising Hope Ministries, Yellow Balloon Scholarships, Youth Force and More.
