Gary David RogersGary David Rogers was born May 17, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Wilbur David and Bonnie Ruth Pruitt Rogers. He died Sunday, October 13, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 58 years. Gary started his education in Sperry, Oklahoma, before attending Mingo schools in Tulsa, then finishing at Owasso High School graduating with the Class of 1979 and playing football. As a young man he attended First Baptist Church in Sperry, and then Mingo Baptist Church where he was saved and active with the Royal Ambassadors. He later attended First Baptist Church in Owasso then Tulsa Christian Center Ministries where he was baptized. Gary worked hard all his life beginning as a young man working for Highlands Mobile Home Park. He worked for Tulsa Gun Club from 1972-1981 as a trap boy and groundskeeper. He worked as a journeyman for Oklahoma Fixture Company and then owned Rogers Painting for over 12 years. Most recently he worked in maintenance with American Parking handling downtown Tulsa and the Tulsa Airport parking garages and flat lots. Gary enjoyed several pastimes including skeet shooting and going fishing. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed following his favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints. He especially enjoyed his role as Grandpa.

Son and daughter-in-law; Tommy and Hannah Rogers, of Claremore, Oklahoma
Daughter and son-in-law; Lacey Graff and husband Jack, of Tulsa
Grandchildren; Gunner Mack Rogers
Sheana, Jordynn, Aaliyah, and Dallas Ciesielski
Brother and sister-in-law; Jimmy and Marsha Rogers, of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Sister; Joyce Spencer, of Owasso
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Carlin Rogers, Autumn Drake, Jim Pruitt, Grace Ellis, father, Wilbur Rogers, mother, Bonnie Rogers, stepmother, Stella Hollenbeck, brother, John “Junior” Horner, and sister, Sherry Rogers.

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2019, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Dr. Nancy Cook officiating. Graveside and committal service will be held 1:00 p.m. at Sallisaw Memorial Cemetery, Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
