Gary Ray Nickles was born July 9, 1951 in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Dale Isaac and Wilma Dolores Tincup Nickles. He died Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 68 years. Gary completed his secondary education in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a graduated of Will Rogers High School. He was married April 14, 1968, in Claremore to Ruth Ann Riddell. They lived in Tulsa before making their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, in the early 1970’s. Gary spent over 40 years working at American Airlines in Tulsa as a plating shop crew chief. He was a member of the Transport Workers Union Local #514. He enjoyed an extended variety of pastimes including collecting coins and jewelry. He also enjoyed photography and had a love for cars and motorcycles. He liked listening to music, and spending time outdoors gardening and going to the lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth, sister, Sandy Johnson, and granddaughter, Hannah.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Curtis Linton officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Dan Nickles, Charles Nickles, Jimmy Evans, Zane Durrett, Athan Nickles, and Gary Evans. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service.
