Greg LysterGregory Winston Lyster was born December 18, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Vernon Cleo and Verna Sue Wilson Lyster. He died Saturday, January 11, 2020, in Clinton, Arkansas, at the age of 60 years. Greg completed his secondary education at North Central Arkansas. He spent much of his working life in the sawmill in Arkansas. He volunteered his time with the Ozark Heritage Arts Center and Museum in Leslie, Arkansas. Greg enjoyed a variety of pastimes including camping and fishing, especially at the Buffalo River. He was an avid University of Oklahoma Sooners fan. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and roll and watching the old classic movies. He particularly enjoyed his role as “Uncle” and loved spending time with kids and dogs.

 

He leaves behind his loving mother, Verna Sue Lyster, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon, and his grandparents, Richard and Helen Wilson.

 

Funeral service for Greg will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Oklahoma, with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be Phillip Gerber, Steve Smith, Jordan Gerber, Kevin Gerber, and Phillip Davis. Final resting place will be at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service.
