Jack David Kelley was born January 8, 1923, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to George Washington and Minnie Viola (Ridenhour) Kelley. He died Sunday, March 3, 2013, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years. Jack was reared and educated in Oklahoma City and was a graduate of Capital Hill High School. He continued his education at the United States Naval Academy, graduating on June 6, 1945. He served his country honorably as a Lieutenant with the US Navy during the Korean War. He was active in the Inchon Landing, Hungnam, Wonsan, and the withdrawal of troops facing the Chinese. Jack was married June 6, 1945, in Annapolis, Maryland, to Mary Ethel Heinlein. He spent most of his working life with Oklahoma Natural Gas, retiring after 33 years of employment. Jack served his Lord faithfully at Immanuel Baptist Church in Tulsa. Upon moving to Owasso, he and Mary continued serving the Lord as faithful members of Owasso First Baptist Church. He was also a member of ONGOERS and the Tulsa Rock and Mineral Society. Jack enjoyed a variety of hobbies working with leather, photography, beadwork, and crafting his own jewelry using rocks he cut, polished and shaped from a collection gathered over many trips with Mary around the continental US, Hawaii and Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Alsup Chapel at Baptist Village in Owasso with Pastor Dale Blackwood officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Owasso Baptist Home for Children, 12700 East 76th street North, Owasso, OK, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
