J MillerJackie Lee Miller was born June 4, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Paul LaVerne Huston and Hazel Jones Huston Kirk. She passed from this life Saturday, August 19, 2017, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years. Jackie was reared and educated in Tulsa and attended Will Rogers High School where she finished half of her senior year before running away to get married. She later attended Southern Baptist University in Arkansas and then transferred to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Education. Jackie spent most of her working life in education and taught at Hawthorne Elementary in Tulsa for 28 years. After retiring from Hawthorne she continued substitute teaching for various schools around the area. She has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma since 2005 and was a passionate volunteer for Mission Owasso. Jackie had a variety of pastimes and loved reading, socializing with friends, volunteering, but most of all being a good witness for the Lord.

13 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Huston, mother, Hazel Jones Huston Kirk, son, Wesley Gravitt, and dad, Oriel Kirk.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Interment will be held at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Jackie’s memory to Mission Owasso, 13307 E 96th St N, Owasso, OK 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
