ThumbnailJake “JB” Stigall, 84, died peacefully at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma Sunday, May 28, 2017. He was born June 6, 1932 in Timbo, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Ollie (Dodson) Stigall. He graduated from Mason High School and went on to attend Connors State College on a basketball scholarship and Oklahoma State University, prior to joining the U.S. Navy and serving in the Korean War.  He married the love of his life, Pansy Pearline (Tyler) on December 19, 1955 in Okemah, Oklahoma.

 

JB retired from the FAA as an air traffic controller in 1982. He also served on the Board of Education at Owasso Public Schools for over 15 years while being an enthusiastic supporter of Owasso Athletics. The new baseball complex was named in his honor, Stigall Field. JB will be remembered as a loving husband, father and Papa JB.

 

Survivors include Pansy Pearline (Tyler) Stigall of their home in Owasso, Oklahoma; daughters; Melina Morton and husband, Rodney of Owasso, Oklahoma and Susan Costa and husband, Mark of Aransas Pass, Texas; siblings, Oneta Moore of Mustang, Oklahoma, Leaster Stigall and wife, Kathie of Montrose, Colorado, and Martha Green and husband, Bill of Okemah, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tyler and wife, Brittany Huffman of Jenks, Oklahoma, Blake and wife Hannah Morton of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Lauren and husband Keith McWilliams of Flower Mound, Texas, Amanda and husband Wally Schooley of Jenks, Oklahoma, Jordan and Justin Bayer of Cypress, Texas; great-grandchildren, Amaryllis, Jake, Logan, Mikaela, Mason, Merida, Maeve, Samuel, Dane, Jacob, Jude, Zachary, Jackson and Owen; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by all.

 

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017, 6:00PM to 8:00PM with the family present at Schaudt’s Tulsa Funeral Service. Services will be 2:00PM  Friday, June 2, 2017 at Memorial Drive Church of Christ, 747 S. Memorial Dr. Tulsa interment will follow at Floral Haven.
