Joan JohnsonJoan Johnson was born January 29, 1949, in England, Arkansas, to Charlie Harrison Johnson and Osie Mae Babe Johnson. She died Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 72 years. Joan completed her secondary education in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Central High School Class of 1967. She was the recipient of the 1967 scholarship award presented by the Tulsa Metropolitan Women’s Club. In 1965, at the age of sixteen, she began her career in accounting with Magee Rausch and Shelton CPA in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She left them for a brief time to work for Cancer Care and Associates, but returned to Magee Rausch and Shelton until they were acquired by Eide Bailley in 2008. She continued to work for Eide Bailly until her retirement. Joan was a woman of strong faith. She enjoyed playing softball, traveling, shopping and collecting antiques. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed listening to country music, especially Alan Jackson and George Strait. Joan dedicated her life to her work and spoiling her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Bo Johnson, Odie Johnson, Tedd Johnson, Warren Johnson, Teeter Johnson, Thelma Reeves, Charlene Wright, Catherine Boettcher, Brooks Johnson, and Charles Johnson. She was the last of her generation. She will be missed by her rescue dogs Milly and Dixie.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Kevin Laufer officiating. Her remains will be returned to Arkansas back to the quiet land she so dearly loved.
