John was born to Jewell and Carl Clark on March 16, 1944, in Independence, KS. John fought so hard against the cancer inside him! But melanoma was not to be defeated and he left this earth on October 31, 2018, for his next great adventure! Son Douglas Taylor Clark and John’s parents were assuredly waiting for him with open arms.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Marcia, Brother David (Sarah), Sister Carlyn Ritter (Frank) and Grandson Robert Douglas Hoffstatter-Clark. Nieces and Nephew include Deborah Clark, Jennifer Hardgrave and Stuart Ritter.
John graduated from Tulsa Will Rogers High School in 1962 and attended Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He worked for a short time for Sinclair Oil Company before going to work for American Airlines where he spent the next approximately 50 years. John’s interests were many, varied and enthusiastically enjoyed—musician, pilot, golfer, fly fisherman, world traveler, photographer, gardener, sailor, hunter, woodworker, mountain four-wheeler, and finally a paraglider in the mountains of Switzerland.
