Spread the love

Judy Miller, resident of rural Owasso, was born December 22, 1943 and departed this life April 10, 2014. Judy can best be described as fiercely loyal to family, always trying to see they had advantages she never had at her young age as her father abandoned her mother and sister when she was 9 years old. An Aunt moved to Harrisonville, MO, bringing them with her. The aunt provided employment forher mother Grace; and Judy and her sister Vickie graduated from Harrisonville high school. Judy went to trade school learning to become a key-punch operator and went to work for Phillips 66 in Kansas City, MO. She quickly rose to become supervisor in her work career. Her future husband Glen, was employed by Phillips shortly thereafter. They were married June 15, 1963. Phillips moved them to Bartlesville in March of 1964 where son Kevin was born and she elected to become a full-time homemaker. In December of 1966, Glen took a position with American Airlines, where daughter Carol was born. The family moved to Owasso in May of 1971. While in Owasso, she was a Sunday School teacher and nursery worker in several churches ending with BBC of Owasso, and served for several years at the local voting precinct. Because of her many years with constant pain, the Bible verse John 14:18; “I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you” had special meaning for her.

Those that survive include her husband of 50 years Glen; son Kevin Miller and daughter Carol Miller and her husband Paul; as well as three grandchildren Mary, Walker and Patrick. Judy was preceded in death by her mother and sister.

Memorial services for Judy will be held at Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Bible Baptist Church of Owasso with Pastor Jerry Remington officiating.
