Judy Oriel Lingenfelter was born July 14, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Oriel Robert Kirk and Hazel Gladys Kirk. She went to her heavenly home on Monday, December 15, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years. Judy was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1962. She continued her education attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business education. Judy was married on March 25, 1967, in Tulsa, to Tom Lingenfelter. She returned to school earning her master’s degree in school counseling at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Judy spent most of her professional career as an educator and school counselor in the Tulsa area with Tulsa Public Schools, Eastwood school, and Union Public Schools. Judy was a strong woman of faith and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Owasso. Her life was led by her example of serving others through The Mission Owasso and teaching English Language Learners through her church. She dearly loved her family, especially the grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Nana”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Oriel Kirk, and sister, Jackie Lee Miller.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be David Kirk, Scott Pennington, Cameron Pennington, Chapman Pennington, Les Proud, and Brian Cowan. Final resting place will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
