Kenneth Dale Idleman, longtime resident of Owasso, passed away Saturday June 28, 2014 in Tulsa, at the age of 73 years. Kenneth was born May 5, 1941 at Purcell, OK to Francis Eugene and Helen (McDade) Idleman. Kenneth was a graduate of Wayne High School; he later continued his education, obtaining his bachelor’sdegree from Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado.
On April 7, 1961, Kenneth and Peggy King were united in marriage at Purcell. They made their home in Wayne, later moving to Norman, OK for 12 years. Grand Junction, Colorado was home for nine years before moving to Owasso in 1982. Kenneth retired from the City of Tulsa where he was superintendent of the parks and recreation department. He and Peggy were members of FriendshipBaptist Church in Owasso. Kenneth enjoyed golf, woodworking, but especially spending time with his family.

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are his wife Peggy; children – Kelly Idleman of Vinita, OK, Kristen Bostic and husband Anthony of Owasso; four grandchildren Xavier Idleman, Aundrea Bostic, Briahana Idleman and Benjamin Blaze Bostic. Also surviving are two brothers Dennis Idleman and wife Ann of Healdton, OK, Dicky Idleman of Wayne, OK and a sister Sue Martin and husband Hubert of Lindsey, OK. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Kenneth will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in the sanctuary of Friendship Baptist Church with Pastors Linzy Slayden and Dr. Loran McAlister officiating. Interment will follow at the Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, Owasso. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to MoweryFuneral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
