Nellie Katherine “Kitty” Southard was born March 11, 1929, in Freeport, Texas to George Ross Reeder and Dovey Ann (Joy) Reeder. She went to sleep in Jesus on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years. Kitty was educated in Keene, Texas and attended Southwestern Junior College where she graduated high school and earned her Secretarial Associate’s Degree. Kitty was married on August 7, 1950 in Danbury, Texas to Clarence R. Southard. She spent most of her working life at home, raising her three children. Kitty was also a pastor’s wife and held a supportive role various churches over the years. She had most recently been attending Three Angels Seventh Day Adventist Church – Owasso for the past several years. Kitty enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as playing the piano and sewing, but especially loving on her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dovey, and three brothers, Preacher, Bill, and Frankie.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Harvey Gil officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Final interment will be held at Sandridge Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
