L E RedmanLester Eugene Redman was born February 6, 1933, in Vinita, Oklahoma to Charles W. Redman and Mittie Hazel (Dresher) Redman. He passed from this life Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years. Lester was reared and educated in Vinita and graduated with the Vinita High School Class of 1950. He then enlisted and served his country honorably in the United States Army. Lester was married to Shirley Joan (Wilson) Redman on March 13, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He spent much of his working life as a cable repairman with Southwestern Bell. Lester attended First Church in Owasso for many years. He was a great athlete and loved football, and even played semi pro football after high school. Lester enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as camping, woodworking, hunting, rattle snaking, fishing, carpentry work, but most of all he was extremely proud of his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mittie, wife, Shirley, two sisters, Willa Jean and Betty Jo, and great grandson, Noah.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017, at First Church in Owasso with Pastor Ben Killion officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to First Church of Owasso – Youth Quake Fund, 10100 North Garnett Road, Owasso, OK 74055.
