Lizzie “Liz” Jane Leidy was born on February 22, 1933, in Clarkbridge, Arkansas, to Sherman Ellison and Dellie Ellison. She passed from this life on Friday, August 22, 2025, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 92 years.
Liz was raised and educated in Owasso, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1949. She went on to attend Draughon’s Business School, where she earned an associate’s degree in legal studies.
On November 28, 1952, she was united in marriage to William “Harold” Leidy in Owasso, Oklahoma. Their marriage was a lasting and loving partnership.
A woman of deep and enduring faith, Liz was a charter member of Christ’s Church/Rise Church in Owasso. Her dedication to the Lord and her role in helping establish a thriving church community reflected her heart for ministry and her lifelong devotion to serving others.
In her free time, Liz enjoyed cheering on the Oklahoma City Thunder and was a proud season ticket holder of Oklahoma Sooners football for over 40 years. Her passion for sports brought her joy and connection with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Dellie Ellison; her brother, David Odom; and her beloved husband, Harold Leidy.
Liz will be remembered for her unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and joyful spirit. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion.
