80’s band Foreigner as the question “I Want to Know What Love Is”

Answer is….

I know you now have that song stuck in your head.  Go ahead sing it out loud.  It is a good question to answer.  Depending on the perspective, there are many good answers and here is one of them.  The bible describes what love is in

I Cor. 13 is sometimes referred to as the what chapter? The “love chapter,”  The apostle Paul discusses love, and he does his best to explain what love is. (I Cor 13:4-7) 4Charity(love) suffereth long, and is kind; charity(love) envieth not; charity(love) vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; That last phrase is saying…..it is not easily angered, and it(love) keeps no record of wrongs.Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Now Paul is talking about evil in general and truth in general. What does this means? It means that love isn’t trying to catch somebody doing something wrong. He says….. Love is looking for an opportunity to catch people doing…. the right thing. Then he says love….Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Another words….  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love BENDS, love LEANS into, love is always looking for an opportunity to give the other person the benefit of the doubt.

*Love looks for the most generous explanation for the other person’s behavior.

*Love chooses trust over suspicion

*Love Doesn’t not “assume the worst” but “believes the best”

*In healthy relationships, both parties go to ridiculous extremes to believe the best.

So in conclusion. Love=Trust
