Dignitaries from around the state were on hand for the official Groundbreaking Ceremony held Thursday afternoon for the new Macy’s Fulfillment Center located at 7120 East 76th Street North.
 
150 sites across the country were considered for the center, before the Tulsa County site was selected.
 
The 1.3 million square foot center, will sit on 71.5 acres and is expected to be a $170 million dollar capital investment.
 
Operations of the plant are expected to begin in April of 2015, with the first orders going out in the summer of 2015.
 
 
350-500 Construction positions are expected to be used for construction of the facility. Macy’s Fulfillment Center is expected to employ 1,500 full and part-time associates year round, with another 1,000 temporary seasonal employees hired each year during the holiday shopping season.
 
Macy’s expects to begin hiring for the facility early in 2015.
