jonesmarilynMarilyn Ray Jones, a resident of Owasso, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013, at the age of 77. Marilyn was born on September 15, 1935, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Jim Tom and Pauline (Pettis) Perry. She attended Webster High School and graduated with the class of 1953. On December 26, 1953, Marilyn married Charles Jones; they moved to Owasso in 1998. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist church and at the time of her death, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, gardening and caring for her family and friends. She was a sports enthusiast and an avid reader focusing on history. Throughout her life, Marilyn built a network of friends and family and touched the lives of those she met in a very special way.

Two daughters:
Leslie Hoover of Owasso, Oklahoma
Lisa Imbs and her husband Greg of St. Louis, Missouri
Four grandchildren:
Nicole Headrick and her husband Jason of St. Louis, Missouri
Daniel Hoover and his wife Sonda of Ormond Beach, Florida
Andrew Hoover and his wife Yvette of Palm Coast, Florida
Louie Imbs of St. Louis, Missouri
Five great grandchildren: Josiah, Landis, Lilly, Bentlee, and Phoebe
Four Siblings: June Phillips, Jackie Smith, Dixie Jurney, and Jim Tom Perry
And an extended family of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Sue, Doris and her twin sister, Madelyn.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Bill Ascol officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Friends may pay their respects on Monday evening, February 25, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso, Oklahoma. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Marilyn to The Little Lighthouse, 5120 East 36th Street, Tulsa, OK 74135.
