Mary Seay

Mary & her sister Ramona were orphaned at a young age and raised by nuns in a Catholic orphanage in San Antonio.
Mary Reyes Garcia Seay was born on March 17, 1924
She Married Daniel Garcia in 1940. They had a daughter, Betty Garcia Visconti. Daniel was killed in action in WWII 1944. He was a Purple Heart recipient.
Mary met Philip Seay who was a returning soldier wounded in action in WWII serving with the 82nd Airborne. A Purple Heart recipient as well. They married and have a daughter, Gloria Seay Zamora. Philip died in 1978.
Mary was a wife, mother & homemaker who was very active in her parish, St. John Berchman in San Antonio, TX. She was a natural at fundraising for the elementary school where her daughter’s attended.
She belonged to the Guadalupans, a Catholic Women’s group. She was active in the PTA at St. John’s and at Blessed Sacrament Academy High school while her daughter’s attended there.
After Philip died, Mary obtained her LPN license and was a Home Healthcare nurse working primarily in the Intensive Care Units at Santa Rosa Hospital & Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband’s, her sister, Ramona Gonzales; a teenage Nephew, Arturito Gonzales; her daughter, Gloria Zamora; and her Great Grandbaby, Christopher Visconti.
Mary’s survived by her daughter, Betty Visconti; her 4 grandsons & their wives Philip, Arthur & Shelia, Matt & Kimberly Visconti and Richard & Rosie Zamora; 11 great grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2020, with a prayer service beginning at 3:00 p.m., all at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2020, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Owasso with Father Matt LaChance officiating.
