Matthew “Matt” David Williams was born on March 9, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to David Don Williams and Bobbie Ray (Porter) Williams. He passed from this life on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Azle, Texas at the age of 61 years. Matt was raised and educated in Cleveland, Oklahoma and graduated with the Cleveland High School Class of 1979. After high school, Matt went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and his Master of Science in Occupational Adult Education from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was married on March 10, 1984, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jacqueline “Jackie” (Yzaguirre) Williams. Matt spent most of his working life in Education, and as a manager of the Human Dynamics Training Team with the Texas Workforce Commission in Texas. He was an avid college football fan and loved watching his Oklahoma State Cowboys. In his spare time, Matt enjoyed cooking and boating on Eagle Mountain Lake, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and especially his three grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Williams.
A visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Matt’s memory to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service.
