Maxine Joyce Medlin was born July 16, 1936, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, to Harold Gordon Spickelmier and Devedia Ann Draper Spickelmier. She died Friday, January 27, 2023, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years. After high school, Maxine was married to Donald Medlin, September 25, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She spent much of her working life as a baker with Safeway. She had been a faithful member of the Assembly of God in Disney, Oklahoma, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She also liked spending time working on big jigsaw puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don Medlin, two daughters, Linda Vanderpool and Donna Medlin, son, David Medlin, three sisters, Dorothy Spickelmier, Blanche Eggers, and Nadine Allman, and two brothers, Howard Spickelmier and Robert Spickelmier.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Final resting place with be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
