Moleta Anne (Lankford) King, local resident of Owasso, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the age of 67 years. Moleta was born January 10, 1947 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Spencer and Velma (Burden) Lankford. She was reared and educated in Shawnee and graduated with the Shawnee High School Class of 1965. On April 16, 1966, she and Mike King were united in marriage at Brookside Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Tulsa before moving to Owasso in 1978. Moleta started working as a telephone switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell before working her way up and traveling coast-to-coast as a corporate trainer. She was heavily involved in the Telephone Pioneers of America service club during all of her 32 years at AT&T, retiring in 1998. 
Moleta loved the Lord and gave many years to the church through teaching Sunday school, leading ladies’ Bible study, and singing in the choir. She loved decorating, antiques, shopping, and spending time traveling to all of her grandchildren’s activities and events. One of her favoriteBible verses was Romans 8:38-39, “Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future…nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Those who survive include her husband of nearly 48 years, Mike, of the home; two daughters, Michelle Ray and her husband Spencer, of West Plains, Missouri, and Megan Dunham and her husband Craig, of Oklahoma City. Her grandchildren are Abigail Ray, Truett Ray, Titus Ray, Anna Ray, Jane Ray, Maddie Dunham, Chloe Dunham, Katie Dunham, and Millie Dunham. Also surviving is one sister, Senie Margaret Lankford, of Spirit Lake, Idaho. Moleta was preceded in death by her parents.

 
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral services will be held 1:00 Friday, February 28, 2014, at Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Linzy Slayden officiating. Serving as Casket Bearers are Spencer Ray, Truett Ray, Titus Ray, Craig Dunham, Ron King, and Roy King. Committal services and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
