OWASSO, Okla. –Aug. 16, 2016– Rejoice Christian Schools is excited to announce the opening of its brand new, multi-million dollar middle and high school campus. Students will attend the first day of school in the new building located at 13407 E. 106th St. North, Owasso, OK 74055 on Thursday, August 18, 2016. Media outlets are invited to tour the campus from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Thursday morning. RCS middle and high school faculty and staff will be available for interviews during this time.

The 149,435-square-foot facility features 56 classrooms, with 15 students per class. The campus features two gymnasiums, one doubling as a FEMA 361 storm shelter. Tablet-driven technology will be implemented in each classroom, providing the opportunity for teachers to instruct and interact with students through the use of advanced technology.

“I stand in awe of God’s faithfulness as I have watched this miracle project come to completion,” said Superintendent Dr. Craig Shaw. “It was so much fun to watch our preschool and elementary students’ faces light up on their first day of school in the Elementary Campus last year. Now I get the privilege to witness our middle and high school students walk into their new building on the first day of school this year. What an exciting time to be a part of the Rejoice Christian Schools family.”

The $50 million gift from the Eddy Gibbs Family Trust is the largest single gift ever given to a K-12 school in the history of the United States.

“Mr. Gibbs’ gift was a testament to his heart for high-quality education and spiritual growth of students,” Dr. Shaw said. “This selfless gift will impact generations to come and we cannot express our gratitude for this incredible campus. Excitement abounds at Rejoice Christian Schools.”

In total, Rejoice Christian Schools’ new campuses will cover 65 acres of land with 249,910 total square feet. The new facilities include multiple science labs, libraries, art and music centers. The new 600-seat auditorium will give students the opportunity to showcase their acting and singing skills through drama performances and school programs. The RCS athletic facilities include a 2,000-seat football stadium, a baseball field, three gymnasiums, a weight room training complex and tennis courts.
