OGA Boot Scooter Team Celebrates First Anniversary  —  2013 TO 2014

The Boot Scooters Line Dance Team celebrates its First Anniversary under the new management of Louise Lehman, OGA Trustee. Shari Norum & Sandra Boyd, Lead Dance Instructors, have taught and choreographed for the group so well that they have been asked to perform on a regular basis. Assisting dance instructors are Barbara Craig, Ok Mitchell, & Karen Sutton.

The group has approximately 24 active fun loving OGA member volunteers who participate. They provide their own costumes, transportation, and follow our team guidelines. Boot Scooters promote the OGA mission to help our community. They have prize winning teams for Game Days, assist in OGA fund raising Library Book Sale, McDonald Coupon Sales and Silent Auction.

The Boot Scooters have performed locally for Baptist Village, Owasso Community Center, Sequoya Point Living Center, Sterling House and the N.E.T.T. (disabled adult day camp). Their first evening performance in March was for the Oklahoma Home & Community Education  group in Claremore, OK, who donated fifty dollars to OGA.

Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:30-2:00 PM. They also have a Tuesday night class at 7:00 PM.

What began as an outlet to display our new line dance talent has evolved into a local performance group.

April will mark a total of thirteen performances for one year.
Senior dancers are from Owasso, Collinsville, Claremore & Broken Arrow.
